JOY Plaque

Today I am sharing a fun Christmas plaque you can make on your own or get your children and/or grandchildren making one as well.

I started with a scrap piece of wood and just painted it. This is a project where you put your own touches and creativity to use.

Once I had the wood painted I cut out the letters using my Silhouette Cameo and again you can put whatever word you would like. After the letters were cut out at the size I wanted I traced them onto the dry board with a pencil.

Now that you have the letters traced you start adding your nails. I have had these little nails for years so glad they finally came in handy. Just make sure that you nails don't go through to the backside of your wood so the nail size will depend on the thickness of your wood. This is where your creativity comes into play as well, you can add more nails if you get started and don't like your design.

Here is what my “J” looked like after I finished creating the design I wanted. I did play around with the design and try it several different ways.

Since I was making a Christmas design I picked the red solid Devine Twine and Silver Metallic Devine twine.

Remember this is your creation so have fun with it.

This was my JOY after I finished with the weaving.

wanted to add some embellishments to finish my Joy Plaque. So here is my finished plaque.

Please head over to the Whisker Graphics store to check out more of the wonderful twine and get busy having fun with your own project.

Have a very Merry Christmas and I will be back in 2019 with more fun projects.

Fall Jars

Today I am sharing some jars that I decorated for table decorations for our 50th class reunion.

I started with some small pint jars that have solar lights in them, then cut a strip of burlap to size.

Next step is to glue the burlap around the jar.

Then I took 2 different colors of twine and tied them around the burlap. I used Divine Twine Burlap in Royal Blue and then Divine Twine in bright yellow.

Next I embellished with a fall them to complete the jars. I made a total of 6 of them and love how they turned out. The twine is just what was needed to set them off.

Don't forget to check out the store at Whisker Graphics to see all the great colors of twine and other products available.

How to create a great twine holder

Today I am sharing how to make a twine holder for all your wonderful twine you get from Whisker Graphics.

Sharing a must have for your craft room. I just love all my twine I get from Whisker Graphics but had no way to store them so I came up with an idea.

I bought a wooden lazy susan and had my husband drill additional holes and cut the dowel rods cut into a size that would hold two balls of twine. I didn't have to glue or nail the dowels in they fit perfectly.

You can stack them on top of each other and color code them. Next time you go to use your twine just cut off the amount you need and you are all set.

I got two of these from the purchase of one lazy susan so I now have lots of room for more twine. (Can you tell I love my twine from Whisker Graphics.

Thanks for stopping by and stop by and let me know if you give this a try and please check out the store at Whisker Graphics to see all the other wonderful products.

Let's Eat

Today I am sharing a recipe page with you.  I am making recipe books for each of my grandchildren and my hope is to give it to them at a Bridal Shower so I still have lots of time to get them done.

I started with the background paper and went into my scraps to find some papers to add behind.

I used two different dies for this page.

I used the Cutter Bees Dies set-Mason Jars by EK Success to cut our the jars.  I love this set because it is so very versatile and can be used in many different ways.

Secret Garden Flower 4 by Dee's Distinctively was used for the flowers.

Everything was adhered down using the Best Glue Ever.

The beads along the top and down the sides were ones that I melted down.

Time for a little tag

Today I am sharing a fun tag to create.

I started with a plain white tag and then used a stencil and some ink to get the background.

Next, I wanted to make some flowers and decided to try something different. I put glue down on a piece of cardstock and start laying string by string down until I got it to the size I wanted. I used the Crushed Lavender Solid Twine.

Next I used some of my flower dies and cut out the number of flowers that I wanted.

I also used a vine die and put that behind the flowers.

To finish off my flowers, I layered them and added a brad to the center. I used a ribbon at the top and a “Thanks” brad at the bottom.

I hope you will check out not only the twine the the tags in the Whisker Graphics Store. Until next time, I hope you have fun doing something creative.
