Table Centerpiece

My turn to share my project using Kreaxions punches. This time I actually used the awesome circle cutter, (just love this tool).

I purchased the goblets at the Dollar Store, measured the top and then cut out 2 red circles that would fit over the top of the glass. Beforehand I bleached the pinecones. If you never have done that before it is so cool. I put bleach in a tupperware bowl, the bowls gets cleaned as well, and then dropped in the pinecones. I left mine in for a full day, when you take them out you will have bleached cones.

I used hot glue to attach the pinecones to the center of the red circles. You can stop right there and not add anymore but for me, I needed more so I added some sprigs I purchased last year and some small pinecones as well. Have fun and be creative.

You can add the purchased snow or you can do as I did and make your own. If you rub 2 styrofoam balls together, you get what looks like snow. Make as much as you want. I also added a little bit of glitter to the snow and put that in the glass.

To finish it off, put hot glue around the rim of the glass and put your red circle upside down, so the pinecones are inside the glass. Turn it upside down and your snow will fall on the pinecones. Add some candles to the top and you are done.

This was so easy, cheap and fun to make. I hope if you make one you come back and tell me so I can see yours.

Candy Bag Gift

The Robin's Nest is having a DT Call and I am excited to be submitting again and reapplying for the team.

I am trying out for the Design Team for The Robin's Nest and this is my project. With Christmas coming what a great time to make a little gift for a special person on your list. I have filled mine with candy but you could add a gift card and/or money as well.

I started using one of my Spellbinder die to cut the shape for the bag. I used Red Snowflake cardstock from The Robin's Nest store. I love this paper as it is double sided and works great for a project like this.

I added this template if you want to print and cut it out.

Once you have it cut out, use your scoring board or cutter to mark a line. I show on on the template where I put the fold but you can put it where you feel it fits.

Mark lines inside and on the fold line so that you can insert your ribbon for the handle. Make sure you use double sided tape to hold down your ribbon. The next step is your choice but I chose to cut a coordinating piece of paper to place on the top for some contrast. I then filled a baggie with some Christmas candy and again used some double sided tape to hold it down inside and then stapled through all layers.

Now you don't want your staple to show so again this is your choice, I decided to cover it with a flower. The next steps show you how I created the flower. I made the flower from Red Snowflake cardstock and added some dew drops to the center. If you have never used dew drops you have to get some from the store, they are awesome on so many projects.

I added some paint to the flower to look like snow.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the greenery behind the flower.

This project was very quick and easy to make.

Fall is in the air

Fall is in the air and my grandson went to the pumpkin patch last year so of course it just needed to be scrapped. I used Kreaxion Punch 307 to create the border under the photos as well as along the edge of the photos. I backed orange cardstock behind the border to make it pop. I used some of the negative on the reverse side under the border as well.

Winter in July

This is for a challenge on the Smoothfoam blog. I received the Smoothfoam in my box of goodies from The Robin's Nest.

I made this wall hanging using 2 pieces of Smoothfoam, one size 8”x 1” and the other 6”x 1”.

I started by decoupaging the “Winter Retreat Swirl” paper from The Robin's Nest onto the 8”x 1” smoothfoam. Once that was dry I cut the 6" x 1" in half with an electric knife and then tore it in pieces and glued in onto the paper to make it look like a hill. Once that was dry I used my homemade molding paste (4 Tablespoons baby powder, 2 Tablespoons gesso and 1 Tablespoon mod podge and mix it all together) and put that on my hill. I added some glitter to make it sparkle.

I used Tim Holtz sizzix die to cut out the houses at the top and backed with black paper, the trees were made with a pine tree die to cut out the Christmas trees with a little white paint on the branches.

The 2 solid boys and sled were cut using my Cameo while the two boys, snowflakes and word “snow” were rubs called “Snow” from The Robin's Nest that I on stuck on cardstock and then cut out.

I used the Ace of Diamond Dew Drops for an additional snowflake look. I used a punch to cut out some additional snowflakes that were layered and used on the front.

Finally, I took some of the leftover paper, ran it through my crimper and glued that along the sides and to finish it off punched some smaller snowflakes from the rest of the leftover paper and added those to the side.

Please head over to the Smoothfoam blog and check out other beautiful items.
